Jessica & Rory
Jessica and Rory met at a wedding in 2019, both of them there for someone else, and spent most of it outside because the band was too loud to talk over. They married in November at her grandmother’s house in Perthshire, in the rain, with eighty people and a ceilidh that ran until the generator gave out.

The dress
Danielle Frankel builds like a tailor rather than a bridal house, and the “Hollis” is the clearest example: silk crepe cut on the bias with a high neck and a sleeve seamed at the elbow so it moves with the arm rather than against it. Nothing on it is decorative. It photographs like a column and feels like a shirt.
Why I’m letting it go
“I wore it for one day in the Scottish rain and it was perfect. It deserves a second day, ideally somewhere drier.”
Hemmed for a 51mm heel, with 5cm of allowance left. The closer a shoe sits to that height, the less has to be altered.
Matches the hem, which matters here: there are only five centimetres of allowance.
Nothing on this dress is decorative. The shoe should not argue.
A plain organza pump, for the same reason.
Suggestions only. We do not sell shoes and we are not affiliated with any footwear brand.
Reserve a fitting and we will hold this gown off sale for you. Alterations are arranged after purchase, with our tailor, once the gown is yours. We don’t cut a dress that isn’t.
