Ashleigh & Will
Ashleigh and Will met in 2020 on a video call with eleven other people. They married in May in a garden in Berkshire with seventy people, in bright sun, having spent the previous fortnight watching the forecast hourly.

The dress
Charlie Brear’s whole proposition is separates and restraint, and “Payton” is a plain crepe column with a square neck and no sleeve. There is nothing to it, deliberately. It is designed to be styled (with a jacket, a belt, an overskirt) and to be worn again afterwards, which is a rather good idea for a dress in this wardrobe.
Why I’m letting it go
“I always intended to wear it again and I never have. Someone else will.”
Hemmed for a 76mm heel, with 9cm of allowance left. The closer a shoe sits to that height, the less has to be altered.
Nine centimetres of allowance is the most in the wardrobe, so height is genuinely open here.
This dress was designed to be styled. A blue sandal is the most obvious way to take it up on that.
A mule, for a square neck and no sleeve. It keeps everything undone.
Suggestions only. We do not sell shoes and we are not affiliated with any footwear brand.
Reserve a fitting and we will hold this gown off sale for you. Alterations are arranged after purchase, with our tailor, once the gown is yours. We don’t cut a dress that isn’t.
