Eloise & Ned
Eloise and Ned met in the second week of university and took eleven years to get round to it. They married in September in a small chapel in Somerset with sixty people, then walked up to a conservatory full of plants and ate a great deal of cheese.

The dress
Kate Halfpenny cuts for movement first, and “Iris” is a plain silk crepe column with a deep V and a sleeve that falls rather than fits. There is no boning in it anywhere. It is the sort of dress that looks like very little on a hanger and entirely different on a person, which is precisely why we would rather show you the second than the first.
Why I’m letting it go
“I have nowhere to keep it and no daughter to give it to, and it is far too good to sit in a loft.”
Hemmed for a 76mm heel, with 8cm of allowance left. The closer a shoe sits to that height, the less has to be altered.
A column wants height to keep the line unbroken. Eight centimetres of allowance means the hem can follow.
Warmer than white, which suits crepe better than a bright satin does.
A slingback breaks up a very long line, deliberately.
Suggestions only. We do not sell shoes and we are not affiliated with any footwear brand.
Reserve a fitting and we will hold this gown off sale for you. Alterations are arranged after purchase, with our tailor, once the gown is yours. We don’t cut a dress that isn’t.
